Get up to $400 off Series 2 hearing aids for a limited time.

Wearing hearing aids and other hearing devices can be daunting, especially for the first-time user. While your audiologist and hearing aid provider should be able to give you instructions on how to set up and use your device, it’s nice to have online tutorials in case you forget what to do or encounter any issues!

Some of the videos listed below are accompanied by written instructions, but you can also turn closed captioning on with any YouTube video by hovering your cursor over the video and pressing the “CC” button in the bottom right corner of the video screen.

Setting Up My Hearing Aid

Perhaps you need help setting up your hearing aid after you first receive it. The Audicus Dia II is a behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid, with a similar design to many other hearing aids out there.

The video below shows how to set up your hearing aid—it covers how to open the battery compartment, how to properly insert the battery, and how to know your hearing aid is on. If you are unsure of how to wear your hearing aid, the video also provides instructions for insertion.

If you have a more complex model of hearing aid—such as the Audicus Oro, a BTE hearing aid with the receiver-in-canal—you may need more specific instructions. The following video gives exact directions on how to set up such a device, and how to insert it into your ear.

The video also gives some handy tips about the retention guard that comes with your hearing aid, and how to use it (or remove it, if you’d rather do that!)

Pairing Bluetooth and Hearing Aids

If your hearing aids are Bluetooth-enabled, you may need some help to successfully turn on and use the Bluetooth settings. The Oro is Audicus’ Bluetooth-enabled model, and the video below can help you figure out how to make the most of this feature!

This video gives step-by-step instructions on how to pair your hearing aid with your smartphone, which will allow you to listen to phone calls via your hearing aid. The tutorial also instructs you on how to use and where to place the Bluetooth remote, and how to use your Bluetooth dock with other devices.

Using Other Hearing Devices

Have you heard about the Audicus Solo yet? It’s a device that is designed for people who have difficulty hearing soft speech and conversations in noisy environments, but who aren’t ready for hearing aids quite yet.

The Solo is a smart listening device that is made up of a microphone, speaker, a wire, and a dome that sits in your ear. The video below demonstrates how to insert a new battery into the device and how to place the Solo into your ear.

If you need further help with your smart listening device, Audicus has a video for that, too! The Solo has multiple settings for volume control and for using the device with your phone, and the video below demonstrates how to program and use each setting.

Audicus has an extensive collection of YouTube tutorials that should cover most questions you have about the setup and insertion of your hearing aids or other hearing devices. Take a look around at the playlists—maybe you’ll learn something new!
