How’d your career path bring you to Audicus?
Once graduating from college, Gina began her role search into the corporate world. She was focused on finding an enriching company whose mission was dedicated to helping others. After discovering Audicus, Gina says “what drew me to the company was the affordability of hearing care.” Gina has hearing loss in her left ear and has been mostly deaf since she was born. The Audicus mission is important to her as it hits close to home, and she feels comfortable speaking to customers, as they can both relate to one another and understand each other’s struggles.
What is your role at Audicus?
Gina began working at Audicus in the Summer of 2020, mid-pandemic. She first began working as a Customer Experience Associate on the incredible CX Team, and worked her way up the ladder into a Customer Experience Manager role where she oversees two team members. In her role, she oversees daily tasks, answers any team questions, goes through return rates, and will assist customers needs, including handling any escalations. Gina mentions “I love working with people and helping them grow – it’s something that really suits me.”
Any advice for someone wanting to pursue a career in CX?
A piece of advice for anyone wanting to pursue a career in Customer Experience is to be empathetic. Gina says “working with customers and assisting folks putting on hearing aids for the first time requires a lot of patience and empathy – just be patient and kind.”
How do you like to start your mornings?
One of Gina’s new year resolutions was changing up her morning routine. She wakes up at 7:00am, has eliminated coffee, and is “drinking ounces and ounces of water, and smoothies – it’s a good kick start” to the day. In the morning she feeds her cats, Felix and Obee, and spends some quality time with them. To get herself in the work groove, she’ll put on her headphones, listen to music, and “set up my nice and neat space” that helps set the tone for the day.
What’s your favorite memory with Audicus?
One of Gina’s favorite memories is heading to Karaoke one night after work with the Audicus team. She recalls “it was nice getting the team together, not talking about work, and getting to know the people you work with.” She mentions Audicus has a strong company culture, and enjoys being friendly with her team.
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
“I love to bake. I would consider myself a pretty good baker.” Gina enjoys making chocolate chip cookies, muffins, lemon bars, and more.
What do you like to do outside of work?
“I love to hang out with my cats Felix and Obee, and go to concerts.” Gina has a trip coming up to see Taylor Swift, and most recently saw Travis Scott. She enjoys going for walks, and exploring the outdoors and what nature has to offer. Gina very much values time with family and friends, and says “I love riding the ferry – it’s right by our home. My mom recently visited and we decided to go on the ferry, take the last stop, and go right back.”
